The later AI Centre of Excellence announcement makes the pattern even clearer. Grab said the company already had over 1,000 AI models in use and tied the COE to capability building, productization, and localization work such as speech recognition tuned with Singaporean voice samples.2 Read together, the gateway and the COE show what a useful center of excellence actually does: it sits on top of shared tooling and accelerates adoption across the business instead of merely publishing internal principles.
South Korea Shows the Enterprise Control-Plane Version
South Korea offers a slightly different but equally useful pattern. Samsung SDS pairs Brity Copilot with FabriX, explicitly connecting a visible work assistant to a secure enterprise platform that links business systems and corporate data to multiple LLMs.34 That is important because it means the assistant and the orchestration layer arrive together.
LG CNS shows the same logic from an enterprise-integrator angle. Its AX Platform and AgenticWorks materials are all about development, governance, deployment, and managed lifecycle control for enterprise AI services.56 Readers should take these control-plane stories seriously because large institutions usually adopt AI most deeply when somebody has already solved the hard operational parts for them.
India Shows the Suite-Embedded Reuse Version
Zoho is useful because it broadens the concept of an internal platform. Centers of Excellence Only Matter When They Own Something Real
A center of excellence becomes interesting when it has real leverage over tooling, standards, and repeatability. Otherwise it can devolve into presentationware. Readers should therefore ask what the group actually owns. Does it control a shared gateway, evaluation layer, deployment framework, skills program, or reusable architecture? Or is it only a coordination label attached to scattered work?
