Yang Zhilin (杨植麟) – Founder & CEO

Yang is the co-founder and chief executive of Moonshot AI[1]. He holds a bachelor's degree from Tsinghua University and a PhD in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University[2]. Yang worked as a researcher at Facebook AI Research and Google Brain, coauthoring dozens of top AI papers[3]. He is also an assistant professor at Tsinghua's Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences[2].

Zhang Yutao (张宇韬) – Co-founder & CTO

Zhang is a co-founder and the Chief Technical Officer[4]. A Tsinghua-trained computer science PhD (student of Professor Jie Tang), he specializes in data fusion and knowledge graphs. Zhang was a core developer of the AMiner academic analytics platform and has jointly founded multiple AI ventures with Yang Zhilin[5]. His technical expertise anchors Moonshot's engineering and model-building efforts.

Zhou Xinyu (周昕宇) – Co-founder & Head of Algorithms

Zhou is a co-founder and head of the algorithms team[6]. He was a Tsinghua CS undergraduate classmate of Yang and Zhang. Zhou interned at Megvii (Face++) in computer vision and co-authored the influential "ShuffleNet" architecture (CVPR 2018) for efficient mobile neural networks[7]. His role focuses on high-performance model development and algorithm optimization at Moonshot.

Wu Yuxin (吴育昕) – Co-founder & Research Lead

Wu is a co-founder and leads AI research. Like Yang and Zhang, Wu earned his undergraduate degree from Tsinghua and doctoral training at CMU. He worked at Meta AI Research, where he co-developed Group Normalization (cited in an ECCV 2018 best-paper nomination) and created the Detectron2 computer-vision toolkit[8]. Wu's expertise is in vision and foundational model research.

Zhang Yutong (张予彤) – President

Zhang joined Moonshot AI in late 2025 as "Kimi" President, responsible for overall strategy, commercialization and fundraising[9]. She has a B.Sc. from Tsinghua and an M.S. from Stanford[10]. Zhang was formerly a partner at Sequoia Capital China (Hongshan Ventures) focusing on early tech investments. In her Moonshot role she leads the company's business strategy and go-to-market execution.
